Chat for Charlie Waller 2023

This Mental Health Awareness Week, between 15th – 21st May 2023, we’re encouraging you to host a Charlie Waller coffee break. Connecting with each other over a coffee (and perhaps a cake!) is a great way to boost your mental health.
The theme for the week is anxiety. It’s normal for us all to experience anxiety from time to time. We might feel anxious about exam pressures, moving house, or a changing relationship, for instance. But if anxiety starts being unmanageable it can become a mental health problem.
By taking part in Chat for Charlie Waller, you’ll be raising awareness of anxiety and helping people understand that there are ways to manage it. And that’s not all – why not ask everyone who attends to donate the price of a coffee or cake to Charlie Waller. That way you’ll be helping us continue to be there for young people and their families by educating them about mental health and wellbeing.
If you’d like to join in, simply download our free digital fundraising pack with lots of fun ideas, materials and recipes, to help you plan your coffee break.
And don't forget to share your chats with us on social media - use the hashtag #ChatForCharlieWaller.

How to put on a chat for Charlie Waller coffee break...
- Encourage colleagues and friends to connect in person, virtually or both for a coffee break any time between Monday 15 May and Sunday 21 May.
- Engage and enjoy conversations with those around you, perhaps especially with those you feel you don't usually get the chance to. Interacting with others is a crucial need that most of us have to meet, in order to maintain good mental health and wellbeing.
- Let us know you are participating and we'll send you a Chat for Charlie Waller pack full of ideas and games to help you create a warm and welcoming event.
- Set up a team fundraising page or encourage the team to donate the cost of a coffee and a slice of cake online. All funds raised will help us continue to be there for young people and their families by educating them about mental health and wellbeing.
- Tell everyone about it and help us reach someone who may need our help. Share pictures and don’t forget to tag the Charlie Waller Trust and use the hashtag #ChatforCharlieWaller
